Programs
Unlike group lessons, filled with distractions that
keep your dog stressed and unable to focus, in-home lessons allow you to work in a calm, familiar environment for your dog.
Your dog can relax and learn, and you get one-on-one personalized
attention to your needs instead of a cookie-cutter program. Your lessons are completely about you and your
dog, so you can make the most of what is covered, get your own issues addressed, and ask as many questions as you
like.
Here are some of the programs available at Pooches Dog Training (click on the program
title link for more details):
Puppy Basics
Start your puppy out right with basic obedience training and behavior management. Puppies can learn quickly and
easily, and you will pave the way to a lifetime of a well-mannered dog by starting early, before you have to undo
any bad habits. Housebreaking, nipping, chewing, socialization, barking, out-of-control behavior and crate training
are among the many important topics covered. In addition, basic commands such as sit, stay and come will be
taught. This is a series of six hour-long sessions to get your puppy on his way to being a great dog! Click
here for more information.
Foundations I This is a
series of six hour-long sessions designed to teach you and your dog the basics of obedience. Included are a
discussion of how dogs learn and how they perceive the world, the science of learning, pros and cons of various
training styles, plus a long list of behaviors that will make your dog a happier and better behaved pet. Click
here for more information.
Foundations II
This series of six hour-long sessions builds on the behaviors learned in Foundations I, as well as adding some new,
more complex behaviors into your dog's repetoire. Emphasis is placed on strengthening core commands such as the
recall, stay, and leash manners, as well as adding new tricks and working on any problem areas specific to
each dog and owner. Click here for more
information.
