Foundations I
This series of six hour-long sessions is designed to teach you and your dog the foundation behaviors that
will build your relationship, create a better-mannered pet, and set the stage for more complex learning. Each
lesson provides the foundation for the next lesson. It is necessary that you practice the assignments given you
because it is repetition and consistency that will help your dog learn and reach your goals for his behavior.
Unlike group lessons, filled with
distractions that keep your dog stressed and unable to focus, in-home lessons allow you to work
in a calm, familiar environment for your dog.
Your dog can relax and learn, and you get one-on-one personalized attention to your needs
instead of a cookie-cutter program. Your lessons are completely about you and your dog, so you can make the most of
what is covered, get your own issues addressed, and ask as many questions as you like.
Included are a discussion of how dogs learn and how they perceive the world, the science of learning, pros and
cons of various training styles. The concepts taught include but are not limited to:
When you have completed this course, you and your dog will be well on your way to a calmer, fun relationship
that you can continue to refine through the techniques you have learned. Whether you decide to continue into
Foundations II training or not, you will know how to work with your dog to control his behavior - and to have
a better behaved, happier, easier to live with pet!
